BSJ studied Mathematics at Magdalene College, Cambridge. 

He graduated from Chengdu No. 7 Middle School Competition Class. Prior to successfully applying to Cambridge from an ordinary High School in China, he exceled in mathematics competitions, taking first prize in the National High School Mathematics League and also obtained a reference from Dr Po-Shen Loh, national coach of USA IMO team, during a summer camp in Tsinghua University. 

In the summer of 2020, he prepared STEP 2 and 3 on his own and got two S’s. He has an interest in computer science and is self-studying data structures.
