ZHL University of Cambridge, Physics
ZHL completed a four-year integrated master’s degree in Physics at Peterhouse College, Cambridge and graduated with BA and MSci degrees with first class honours and ranked 23/107.
Upon graduating, he applied to and received fully funded PhD offers from Cambridge, Imperial College and TU Delft.
He will join Professor Ian Walmsley’s Quantum Optics group at Imperial College, funded by the UK Quantum Computing and Simulation Hub and ORCA Computing.
Prior to coming to Cambridge, he studied in a Chinese public high school for Gaokao. He completed his university application without professional help and received his Cambridge offer without any academic conditions.
He has provided private tutoring services to Zhongkao and Gaokao students in English, Maths and Physics, and has volunteered as a teaching assistant in local primary schools in Cambridge.
Additionally, he has also worked on various physics research projects in Cambridge, Tsinghua, and QuiX BV, a Dutch quantum computing start-up.
